Last Saturday the show went on! Between Covid and Hurricane Ida, our crowd was much slimmer than what we first expected to have. Many could not come due to the fact that they needed to prepare before the storm.
The weather was beautiful and hot! We did have a shower that came through late in the evening, but thankfully it was short. It did cause us to shut down a little early and hand out the trophies. But it was a wonderful time of community and fellowship.
There were only 45 vehicles registered with several more in the crowd that did not register. Several kids also joined in the fun with their awesome rides and a couple of golf cart entries. This was our first car show and of course there were some bugs that needed to be ironed out, but hope next year will be bigger and better! One thing for sure is, it is a lot of work -in which I was prepared for- but it’s definitely not a one man (or woman) show! I was very thankful for the few that stepped up to help but I was still short handed. I pray next year will bring in more helping hands!
We have just two more cruise-ins this year: September 25, 2021 and October 23, 2021. Our next show will be August 27, 2022. There will be more prayers and fingers crossed that we will have no storms or covid to interfere next year! Until the next time, drive safe and keep on cruisin’.
